Some research at Counselling Haverhill into post-traumatic stress and physical problems. Firstly, clients reporting symptoms assocatiated with post-traumatic stress ('I have been disturbed by unwanted thoughts or feelings' or 'unwanted images or memories have been distressing me'):
Secondly, clients reporting difficulties with physical problems. There is evidence1 that this type of counselling can help to reduce chronic pain and help with psychosomatic problems (physical problems caused or aggravated by mental stress).
